Phenix City man shot in head during robbery; suspects at-large

Phenix City police are searching for an unknown number of suspects who allegedly robbed and assaulted two Phenix City residents Thursday night, sending one to the hospital.

At about 10 p.m., police respond to reports of a burglary on the 1000 block of 4th Street South. The suspect(s) reportedly wore dark clothing and a ski mask, and was armed with with a semi-automatic pistol, according to police.

One of the victims was shot in the head during the attack. He was taken to Columbus Regional and treated. His medical condition is unknown. The victim's guest was also assaulted and robbed, but didn't need medical treatment.
