Homewood 42, Russell County 7: Patriots hand Warriors season-ending loss

HOMEWOOD, Ala. -- The Homewood Patriots handed the Russell County warriors a season-ending 42-7 loss Friday night. The Warriors lone touchdown came on a 2-yard run by Curtez Woods in the first quarter. That was the first score of the contest, but from that point on the Patriots controlled the game.

Chavel Smith led the Warriors with 20 tackles, and Courtney Allen had 12 tackles. Caleb Smith led the Warriors receiving corps with four catches for 115 yards. Joshua Johnson led the ground game, rolling up 53 yards on 12 carries.
