CSU 3, USC Aiken 2: Lady Cougars down USC Aiken

The Columbus State Lady Cougars volleyball team defeated USC Aiken 3-2 Saturday at the CSU student recreation center.

USC Aiken won the first set 25-22 and the second set 25-23, but the Lady Cougars battled back to win the third set through fifths ets 25-18, 25-23, 15-10.

Katie Poole led CSU in kills with 16. She also had eight assists, an ace and 15 digs.

Kierston Smith had 14 kills, 38 assists, four aces and 15 digs, Erika Gelzinyte totaled nine kills, four assists and 16 digs, Kylie Beaubien tallied nine kills, one assists and one dig and Taylor Ray had five assists, an ace and 15 digs.

Columbus State (18-10, 10-6 Peach Belt Conference) will play at UNC Pembroke Friday, Nov. 15, at 7:30 p.m.
