Autopsy results show that a 27-year-old Columbus man was shot multiple times before he died outside a home on Winston Road, authorities said Saturday.

Terrell Screws of 8344 Twin Chapel Drive was pronounced dead Friday at 10:49 p.m. by Muscogee County Chief Deputy Coroner Freeman Worley. The autopsy report released late Saturday from the crime lab in Atlanta said Screws died of bullet wounds to his upper body but didn't state how many, Worley said.

The report also noted that the distance from which the gun was fired at 1042 Winston Road couldn't be determined.

Lt. John McMichael said police are still working to determine a suspect.

Late Saturday afternoon, police said the shooting remained under investigation and they were still searching for leads.

Police have not determined why the victim was at the home on Winston Road. Screws is the 19th homicide victim in 2013 and the second in the last two weeks
