Sarah Palin coming to Fort Benning

Sarah Palin’s coming to town.

The former Alaska governor, Republican nominee for vice president, television commentator and author is on a book tour touting her latest work: “Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas.”

Palin is scheduled to appear at the Fort Benning Main Post Exchange Friday from 6-7:30 p.m. for a book signing.

The book, according to reviews, is a defense against what Palin and others call the “War on Christmas.” It contains the usual slams against people saying “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas,” slaps at the “cultural elite” and “secular leftists.”

Coming to post on her high heels next Tuesday will be Oliver North, also on a book signing tour.

North, a former U.S. Marine Corps lieutenant colonel who was caught up in the Reagan administration’s Iran-Contra affair, has been a political commentator, radio and television host and author.

He’ll also be at the PX, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, signing copies of his latest, “American Heroes: On the Homefront.”
