After a gray Friday, expect more of the same today and Sunday as the threat of rain continues all weekend.

NerdaCon: Organized by the Columbus State University Campus Nerds, this free annual convention -- which started in 2007 with 1,500 attendees -- includes panels, Q&As, a costume contest, video game tournaments and much more. This year's guests include Tony Gowell and Alex Wayne, of AMC's 'The Walking Dead.' At the Dawson Student Center on CSU's campus. It goes from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. today. GHSA State Cheerleading Competition: Cheerleaders from across the state will compete for state championships starting at 9 a.m. today at the Columbus Civic Center. Doors open at 8 a.m. Tickets are $12 per session per day. Parking is $5 for a car and $10 for a van or bus.
Edward Jackson Baseball Clinic: This annual clinic returns to Fort Benning for the fifth year. It's free and sponsored by the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation's Child, Youth and School Services and the 2nd Battalion, 19th Infantry Regiment. It's open to military families and their children ages 6-15 (children are encouraged to wear appropriate shoes and to bring a glove) from 1 to 4 p.m. today at the Youth Sports Complex on post. Uptown's Market Days: 9 a.m.-noon every Saturday through Nov. 30, 1000 and 1100 blocks of Broadway. Purchase produce, crafts, baked goods and artwork by local vendors. Call 706-596-0111.
Fire 5K: This 5K is organized by the Columbus Firefighters Association to benefit Columbus Regional Health and the Children's Miracle Network. The race begins at 8 a.m. today at 11th Street and Broadway. Day-of registration is $35. All participants will receive a T-shirt; awards will be given to the first-, second- and third-place runners.
