Recap: California vs. Oakland

Berkeley, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Jabari Bird scored 24 points as the California Golden Bears stormed back for a 64-60 win over the Oakland Grizzlies as part of the Maui Invitational at Haas Pavilion.

Bird hit 6-of-8 shots from beyond the arc for California (3-0). Justin Cobbs added 13 points and Richard Solomon had a double-double of 11 points and 17 rebounds.

Travis Bader scored 21 points, and Corey Petros recorded a double-double (10 points, 13 rebounds) for Oakland (0-3), which was without second-leading scorer Duke Mondy and forward Dante Williams. Kahlil Felder added 13 points and Tommie McCune netted 11.

Oakland claimed a 30-24 lead at the break after shooting 44.4 percent from the field, including a 4-of-12 effort from beyond the arc. California hit on just 33.3 percent of its attempts from the floor during the period.

After the break the Golden Bears found more success as they connected on 42.9 percent from the field and 5-of-2 from beyond the arc to rally for the victory.

California had a 41-33 edge in rebounds and also outscored the Golden Grizzlies, 19-7, at the free throw line.
