Police probe gas station robberies

Columbus police are investigating armed robberies at two Shell gas stations.

According to a Columbus police report, the Shell at 4500 River Road was robbed Sunday around 3:49 a.m. by a black male with a pistol.

The thief was described as having a slim build and wearing dark clothing. He had a black bandana over his face. Police were told he demanded money from the cash register.

What was taken was not in the report.

Police are also looking at an armed robbery at the Shell gas station located at 4499 Warm Springs Road.

According to the police report, the crime occurred around 11:52 a.m. Saturday.

The clerk told police that two black males robbed the store at gunpoint and took an undetermined amount of money. No further description of the thieves was given.

Two people were also robbed in the store.

A 20-year-old man had a wallet valued at $15 taken.

A 31-year-old man had a wallet valued at $15 taken, as well as $26 in cash.

Nobody was injured.
