Arthur Lynch headed to Senior Bowl

ATHENS - Georgia tight end Arthur Lynch is headed to the marquee college all-star game. Lynch accepted an invitation to play in the Senior Bowl, which showcases the nation’s top seniors for the spring’s NFL draft.

Lynch is one of the 12 players who have been announced as accepting invites, and so far the only tight end. He has 19 catches for 318 yards and three touchdowns this year, including four catches for 75 yards and a touchdown against Auburn.

Among the other players receiving invites so far are Georgia Tech defensive end Jeremiah Attaochu, Arkansas center Travis Swanson and Arkansas end Chris Smith.

Georgia senior Aaron Murray is one of a couple dozen quarterbacks listed on the watch list, along with Alabama’s A.J. McCarron, LSU’s Zach Mettenberger, Clemson’s Tajh Boyd and South Carolina’s Connor Shaw.

Three other Georgia players are on the Senior Bowl watch list: Offensive linemen Chris Burnette and Kenarious Gates and defensive end Garrison Smith.

Last year six Georgia players participated in the game.
