Columbus State 68, Shorter 65: CSU wins close game

ROME, Ga. -- The Columbus Lady Cougars defeated Shorter 68-65 Monday night to pick up the team's second win of the season.

CSU had its biggest lead of the night at 26-12 going into halftime, but Shorter battled back to cut the lead to 31-23 early in the second half.

Late in the half Shorter came to within four points of the lead at 57-53, but the Lady Cougars held off their opponent to pick up the win.

Chatil Bradford led CSU with 22 points and seven rebounds.

The Lady Cougars (2-0) will play at West Georgia Saturday at 2 p.m.

Coach Jonathan Norton also announced Monday the addition of Erin Monroe and Erin Cochran to the list of student-athletes who intend to play for CSU for during the 2014-2015 season.

CSU also signed Opelika High School MVP Kamerian Williams last week.
