West Georgia 73, Columbus State 63: CSU men fall to West Georgia

CARROLLTON, Ga. -- The Columbus State men's basketball team fell to West Georgia 73-63 Saturday.

The game stayed close in the early goings, as the largest lead in the first half was four points at 12-8 in West Georgia's favor.

The teams were knotted at 30 all at halftime. Columbus State and West Georgia traded leads through the first 10 minutes of the second half, but the Wolves began to pull away towards the end of the contest before picking up the 10-point victory.

Kenney Funderburck led CSU in points with 26. He also had five rebounds, an assists and three steals.

Ty Harris had nine points, three rebounds, three assists and a steal, BJ Battle and Jermaine Morgan had six points each, and DeAngelo Kirkland led the Cougars in rebounds with 10.

Columbus State (1-1) will host Voorhees Friday at 2 p.m.
