What's open on Thanksgiving in the Columbus, Phenix City area

Don't feel like cooking a Thanksgiving meal? We've got you covered.

Here are a few places in the Chattahoochee Valley where you can find a traditional, or not-so-traditional, Turkey Day meal:

Gus' Drive-In & Restaurant: A South Columbus landmark for generations, 3498 Victory Drive, will be open, serving its signature dish of turkey and dressing on Thursday. The rest of the menu items, which includes fry bread and greens, will be available. Restaurant hours are 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Thursday. Call 706-687-5770.

Cracker Barrel: 1500 Bradley Park Drive. Open 6 a.m.-10 p.m. Will serve Thanksgiving lunch but traditional menu will be available. Call 706-317-3460.

Golden Corral: 1505 Manchester Expressway. Open 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m. They will serve a traditional Thanksgiving buffet. Prices are as follows: $12.99 for adults, $11.99 for seniors, $4.99 for ages 4-8, $5.99 for ages 9-10 and $6.99 for ages 11-12.

Ryan's: 1900 Manchester Expressway. Open 10 a.m.-7 p.m. They will serve a traditional Thanksgiving buffet. Prices are as follows: $11.99 for adults, $11.49 for seniors, and $1.99-$5.99 for kids.

Applebee's Neighborhood Grill: 2090 U.S. 280 Bypass, is open 11 a.m.-11 p.m., will be giving food to the homeless and will give proceeds from the day's sales to a local charity. Call 334-448-2500.

L V Bar & Grill: In Lakeside Village at Beaver Run, there will be a Thanksgiving meal free for all active-duty military personnel. Everyone else can pay $6.99 for the meal. All proceeds go to PAWS Humane. Call 706-507-3233.

Shogun Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bars: 5520 Whittlesey Road, will be open from noon to 8-9 p.m. Thursday. The regular menu will be available. Call 706-323-0402.

Rose's Caribbean Restaurant: 2089 Torch Hill Road, is busy making jerk turkey and jerk turkey wings. It will be open Thanksgiving Day, between 7 a.m.-1 p.m., if you're hankering for some Caribbean food. It will be serving food from its regular menu. Call 706-682-0220.

Vallarta: A Mexican restaurant at 2151 Fort Benning Road, will be open from 11 a.m.-2:45 p.m. only, serving its regular lunch menu. Call 706-682-8895.

The Thai House: 5592 Whitesville Road in the Landings, will be open 11 a.m.-5 p.m., offering the dinner menu only. Call 706-494-5375.

Hooters of Columbus: 2650 Adams Farm Road, will be open from 5 p.m.-midnight with its regular menu. Call 706-596-4668.

Denny's Restaurant: 3239 Macon Road, will be open regular hours, which is 24 hours a day. The restaurant will offer its regular menu. Call 706-563-2591.

Waffle House: All of the Waffle House restaurants in the Valley will be open 24 hours with its regular menu.

IHOP: All of the IHOP restaurants in Columbus and Phenix City will be open from 6 a.m.-2 p.m. with its regular menu. But there will be ham or turkey specials. In Columbus, they are at 2111 Airport Thruway (706-323-1199); 6317 Talokas Lane (706-569-0522 at Gateway) and 2939 Northlake Parkway (706-507-1635). In Phenix City, it's at 3747 U.S. 43 1/280 (334-291-9600).

Burger King: All Burger King restaurants will be open from 6 a.m.-11 p.m. or midnight, depending on the location, except for the ones downtown on Veterans Parkway and Wynnton Road, which will be open 6 a.m.-2 p.m.

McDonald's: All McDonald's restaurants will be open from 5-11 a.m. for breakfast only, except the ones on Macon Road and the Airport Thruway, which will close at 2 p.m. The McDonald's in the Walmart stores will be open during the Black Friday hours.
