Police: Traffic stop ends in arrest for pill possession

November 28, 2013

Expired registration, a suspended driver's license and a white pill landed one Columbus man in jail for possession Wednesday morning, said Columbus police.

Around 2:30 a.m., Steven Bond, 21, was stopped at Rigdon Road and Illges Road for having an expired vehicle registration, according to a police report.

Police also discovered that Bond's driver's license had been suspended in 2012 for a controlled substance violation.

After his arrest, a search further revealed that Bond allegedly was carrying a white pill in his shorts, imprinted with the letters M363.

Police identified the pill as hydrocodone, with a street value of $10. Bond said it belonged to his sister but had no legal explanation for carrying it for her.

He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and taken to the Muscogee County Jail.
