Walgreens thief offers apology after stealing goods

A man who reportedly stole nearly $200 worth of goods from Walgreens on Macon Road told the cashier he was sorry as he walked out the door, according to a police report.

The suspect, a 40-50-year-old black male, told the clerk, "I am sorry I had to do that."

The theft happened around 8:21 p.m. Sunday. The suspect is said to be a 6-foot, approximately 230 pound man with short hair and a dark complexion with facial hair wearing a blue and white shirt, blue jacket and white shorts.

The value of the items stolen was $179.89, according to police.

Walgreens' surveillance camera reportedly caught the man on camera.
