An overnight hostage situation on Torch Hill Drive ended early this morning, Sheriff's Maj. Randy Robertson said.

It started before 10 p.m. Wednesday when deputies were searching for Bobby Williams in the Torch Hill Drive area after Columbus Police officers responded to a domestic call.

Family and neighbors reportedly saw the suspect go into the apartment. Williams, who has multiple warrants out for his arrest, barricaded himself inside a home with multiple hostages, all children, Robertson said.

The Sheriff's Office Special Response Team and Hostage Negotiation Team responded to the standoff, Robertson said. The hostage situation ended when officials kicked down the door and didn't find Williams inside.

Williams should be considered armed and dangerous, officials said.

The Sheriff's Office is still investigating and more information will be available later in the day, Robertson said.
