Recap: California vs. Fresno State

Berkeley, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Richard Solomon registered a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds to lead the California Golden Bears to a 67-56 win over the Fresno State Bulldogs in a non-conference tilt at Haas Pavilion.

Justin Cobbs chipped in 13 points and David Kravish grabbed 12 boards for the Golden Bears (8-3), who kept their perfect home record intact with the victory. Tyrone Wallace added 12 points and five assists while Ricky Kreklow tallied 11 points.

Marvelle Harris paced Fresno State (6-5) with 13 points on 5-of-18 shooting from the floor. Tyler Johnson finished 4-of-12 from the field to contribute 12 points and Cezar Guerrero chimed in with 10 points and four steals. The setback was the second in a row for the Bulldogs.

California went into halftime with a 28-21 advantage despite connecting on only 35.3 percent of its field goal attempts in the opening 20 minutes of the contest. The Bulldogs managed to knock down only 26.7 percent of their shots from the floor including a 1-of-7 clip from behind the 3-point line in the first period.

The Golden Bears made 51.9 percent of their field goal tries and also 10-of-15 at the free-throw line in the second half to keep Fresno State at bay.

California assisted 16 of its 26 makes from the floor and outrebounded the Bulldogs, 47-34, in the contest.
