Recap: NC State vs. Detroit

Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - T.J. Warren scored 29 points as the NC State Wolfpack narrowly defeated the Detroit Titans, 82-79, in a non-conference matchup at Reynolds Coliseum.

Ralston Turner scored 21 points in 22 minutes off the bench for NC State (7-2). Lennard Freeman, who failed to even attempt a shot from the field in 30 minutes of play, brought down nine boards for the Wolfpack during their fifth straight win.

Juwan Howard Jr. led the Titans (5-6) with 24 points. Evan Bruinsma added 16 points while Ugochukwu Njoku had 11 and nine rebounds. Jarod Williams chipped in 10 points as the team bowed for the second time in the last three outings.

The Wolfpack took a 37-28 lead into the half after the Titans made just 34.5 percent of their shots from the field, including 1-of-9 from beyond the arc. NC State shot 44.8 percent on field goal tries and knocked down 6-of-15 from 3-point range.

In the second period Detroit picked up its shooting, converting 56.7 percent from the floor. The Titans went on a 32-17 run that started at the 7:52 mark, making it a two-point game with under 10 seconds remaining, but that's as close as the visitors would get in the waning moments.

The Wolfpack's bench performed far better than the Detroit reserves, edging the Titans backups, 35-12.
