Opelika man shot to death in Auburn

A 20-year-old Opelika, Ala. man was shot to death early Sunday morning.

The Auburn Police Division identified him as Marquez J. Patrick.

The shooting took place at Jackie Lee' Karaoke Bar on South College Street in Auburn.

Lee County coroner Bill Harris said Patrick had multiple gunshot wounds.

He said Patrick was pronounced dead at 3:15 a.m.

According to an Auburn police report, at approximately 2:15 a.m., officers received a call about shots being fired.

When officers arrived, they located two adult males in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported to East Alabama Medical Center.

A third adult male victim arrived at the hospital in a personal vehicle.

The other victims besides Patrick were a 22-year-old male from Auburn and a 19-year-old male from Loachapoka, Ala.

Both were treated and released from the hospital.

The case remains under investigation by the Auburn Police Division, Lee County Coroner and Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.

Numerous persons who fled prior to police arrival were present at the time of the shooting or during the altercation leading up to the incident.
