Stillwater, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - Markel Brown and Le'Bryan Nash led a balanced Oklahoma State attack with 14 points apiece, and the 14th-ranked Cowboys pounded Delaware State, 75-43, at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Stevie Clark scored nine for the Cowboys (10-1), who used a huge run early in the second half to make this game a rout.
Despite the blowout win, Oklahoma State coach Travis Ford criticized his team's play.
"Our hands weren't very good tonight. We had opportunities around the basket that we didn't finish. We had some walks and misses," Ford said.
Kendall Gray had 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Kendal Williams tallied 11 points for the Hornets (2-9), who shot 28.6 percent and lost their fourth in a row.
A 3-pointer from Williams had the visitors within 8-7 just over five minutes into the contest, but the Cowboys scored the ensuing 14 points. Nash capped the burst with a layup, and the hosts carried a 30-16 cushion into the break.
Oklahoma State started the second half with an 18-2 burst, finished by a dunk from Nash with four minutes expired.
Back-to-back 3-pointers from Marcus Smart and Brown widened the gap to 54-20, and the Cowboys coasted to victory.
"I thought we did an excellent job in the first half. You can only play with emotion so long until talent takes over," Delaware State coach Greg Jackson said. "I thought that was the difference in the ball game, but we controlled them in the first half. We had them where we wanted to get them, but their talent took over in the second half."
