Auburn football: Tigers in the NFL, Week 15

Former Auburn Tiger Karlos Dansby played seven of his 10 seasons in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals. A free agent at the end of last year, he signed with the Cleveland Browns during the offseason.

There are only two more weeks left in the NFL's regular season. But with a little more time until this week's games arrive, let's take a look back at how Auburn alums fared during Week 15.

Once more, we extend our thanks to Ethan Brady, a student assistant in Auburn's athletics department who compiled this information.


Karlos Dansby (LB, Arizona Cardinals): Dansby recorded six tackles (five solo) and a pass deflection in the Cardinals’ victory against the Titans. Dansby has 996 tackles and 14 interceptions in his pro career. He leads the Cardinals with 106 tackles, a new career-best total.


Rob Bironas (PK, Tennessee Titans): Was 2-for-3 on field goals and made 4-of-4 extra points in the Titans’ loss to the Cardinals 37-34. Bironas has hit 20-of-24 field goals this season.

Sen’Derrick Marks (DT, Jacksonville Jaguars): Recorded three solo tackles and a sack in the Jaguars’ loss to Buffalo. In his first season with Jacksonville, Marks has 28 tackles, one sack and eight pass deflections through Week 15. He has recorded 126 tackles and six sacks in his five professional seasons.

Cam Newton (QB, Carolina Panthers): Newton was 16-of-24 passing for 273 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed seven times for 12 yards in the Panthers’ 30-20 victory over the Jets. Newton has 3,049 yards passing with 21 touchdowns and 507 yards rushing with six touchdowns this season.


Daren Bates (LB, St. Louis Rams): Bates played on special teams for the Rams in their 27-16 defeat of New Orleans. He has five total tackles through Week 15 of his rookie season.

Ronnie Brown (RB, San Diego Chargers): Rushed three times for 12 yards against the Broncos Thursday night. Brown has recorded more than 7,000 total yards in his nine-year career with 40 touchdowns.

Josh Bynes (LB, Baltimore Ravens): Bynes did not record any statistics in the Ravens’ victory against Detroit on Monday Night Football. He has 79 tackles in his three season career.

Jason Campbell (QB, Cleveland Browns): Campbell was 23-of-39 passing for 273 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions against the Bears. He is 139-of-236 passing for 1,597 yards, 10 touchdowns and five interceptions this season.

King Dunlap (OT, San Diego Chargers): Dunlap started for the second straight game in the Chargers’ victory over Denver. Dunlap has played in 61 games in his six year career.

Nick Fairley (DT, Detroit Lions): Recorded three solo tackles in the Lions’ 18-16 loss to Baltimore. He has 77 tackles and 10 sacks in his three-year career.

Quentin Groves (LB, Cleveland Browns): Placed on injured reserve after suffering an ankle injury in Week 9. Groves finished the season with 2.0 sacks and two forced fumbles.

Ben Grubbs (OG, New Orleans Saints): Grubbs started in his 39th straight game Sunday in the Saints’ defeat by St. Louis. Grubbs has started 100 of his 104 career games played for Baltimore and New Orleans.

Josh Harris (LS, Atlanta Falcons): Harris snapped the ball for two made field goals, three extra points and six punts against the Redskins. Harris has played in all 29 games since joining the league in 2012.

Will Herring (LB, New Orleans Saints): Herring did not record any statistics in the Saints’ defeat by the Rams. He has 142 tackles in seven seasons and has played in 37 straight games for the Saints.

Brandon Jacobs (RB, New York Giants): Jacobs missed his third consecutive game Sunday after suffering a knee injury in Week 12. Jacobs has rushed for more than 5,000 yards and 60 touchdowns in his NFL career.

Corey Lemonier (LB, San Francisco 49ers): Lemonier recorded one solo tackle in the 49ers’ victory over Tampa Bay. He has 13 tackles, one sack and three pass deflections in his rookie season.

Brandon Mosley (OG, New York Giants): Mosley saw snaps against the Seahawks Sunday for the Giants. After missing all of 2012 because of injury, Mosley has played in 12 games this season.

Jerraud Powers (CB, Arizona Cardinals): Recorded three solo tackles Sunday against the Titans. Powers has 56 tackles and 14 pass deflections this season. He has 266 tackles and seven interceptions in five seasons in the league.

Jay Ratliff (NT, Chicago Bears): Recorded two solo tackles as the Bears defeated Cleveland 38-31. Ratliff has 234 tackles and 28 sacks in his career.

Carlos Rogers (CB, San Francisco 49ers): Rogers recorded two solo tackles and one pass deflection in San Francisco’s defeat of the Buccaneers. He has 40 tackles, seven pass deflections and two interceptions in his ninth season of his career.

Pat Sims (DT, Oakland Raiders): Sims recorded four solo tackles and a sack against the Chiefs on Sunday. He has 173 tackles and six sacks in his career.

Ben Tate (RB, Houston Texans): Totaled 16 carries for 72 yards and had three receptions for 20 yards in the Texans’ loss to the Colts. He has 1,992 yards and 10 touchdowns in his career. Tate has totaled 771 yards on 181 attempts so far in 2013.
