NORAD Santa Tracker 2013: Where is Santa Claus right now?

acarlson@ledger-enquirer.comDecember 23, 2013

Come Dec. 24, the rest of us will be furiously wrapping presents and advance-cooking Christmas dinners and making sure the dog doesn't eat any more decorations.

But Santa will be delivering gifts to every home, and child, in the world. (According to those in the know.)

You can keep track of Santa's journey with the NORAD Santa Tracker, which follows him across the sky all the day before Christmas.

As of 6:15 p.m. EST Dec. 23, Mr. Claus still had almost eight hours before he took flight.

As of 2:15 p.m. EST Dec. 24, Santa was moving west across Europe. He's just made it into the Ukraine.

As of 10:43 p.m. EST Dec. 24, Santa had made it to South America -- Bolivia, specifically. So far, he's delivered nearly five billion gifts (and counting fast).

As of 6:15 a.m. EST Dec. 25, Santa had completed his journey around the world. In total, he delivered 7,060,919,100 presents.

'Til next year -- and have a Merry Christmas!
