A 2-year-old boy died after receiving a traumatic blow to the head in his Knox Street home.

Camryn Lawrence, 2, was pronounced dead at 2:38 p.m. at Midtown Medical Center.

While Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan said the cause of death is yet to be determined, he said it appeared that an old-style, 100-pound television had fallen onto the boy's head from a table. Bryan said the boy had broken teeth, a fractured jaw and a possible skull fracture.

The death is under investigation by Columbus police, and the body will be sent to the GBI lab in Atlanta for an autopsy.

The incident happened at 2836 Knox Street.

The boy's father, Jonathan Griswald, said he was cleaning in the house when he heard a noise and found the boy on the floor with a table on him and the television nearby, Bryan said.

Bryant based his information from a report by Charles Newton, the coroner on the scene.
