Kasey Grant leads Lakeside to tourney final

EUFAULA, Ala. -- Kasey Grant scored 42 points, grabbed 27 rebounds and had nine steals Friday as Lakeside defeated Ashford 69-39 to advance to the championship game of Shoemaker-Ward 2013 Holiday Invitational.

Grant's 42 points broke the all-time Lakeside single-game scoring record.

The win was also coach Ricky Ward's 600th win at Lakeside. In 29 years at Lakeside, he has guided the varsity to nine state titles.

Lakeside defeated Abbeville Christian 70-19 earlier Friday in the quartefinals.

Lakeside will play Terrell Academy (Dawson, Ga.) tonight at 6:30 in the championship game.Friday at Eufaula
