Suspect charged in knife attack on 44-year-old woman

A Columbus woman was stabbed in the back Friday during a dispute in her yard on Lorenzo Road, police said.

The woman, 44, was treated for two or three puncture wounds at Midtown Medical Center after the 3:15 p.m. assault.

John D. Moore, 67, of Columbus was charged with one count of aggravated assault and held without bond in the Muscogee County Jail.

In a report, police said the victim identified the suspect as the person who cut her several times. A knife was found about 5 feet from Moore, police said.
