Callaway Gardens closed; reopens Jan. 12

January 2, 2014

Callaway Gardens is taking a winter break through Jan. 11, and will reopen on Jan. 12.

Because early January has historically low visitation at the Gardens in Pine Mountain, it will be closed to the public for the first time. The reservations desk will be manned for future visits and a skeleton crew will be doing some maintenance. The Gardens' restaurants, including the Country Kitchen on U.S. Hwy 27, will be closed during this time.

When Callaway Gardens reopens on Jan. 12, the admission fee will be waived on weekdays through Feb. 28.

Admission will be charged on weekends and on Jan. 20 for Martin Luther King's birthday and Feb. 17 for Presidents' Day.

Tickets are $18; $15 for seniors ages 65 and older; $9 for children ages 6-12; free for children 5 and younger.

The Gardens is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily.
