Bozeman, MT (SportsNetwork.com) - Calen Coleman scored 13 points, helping the Montana State Bobcats take down the Sacramento State Hornets, 70-55, at Worthington Arena in Big Sky Conference action.
Coleman shot 5-of-12 from the field, including 3-of-9 from 3-point range for the Bobcats (6-6, 1-0 Big Sky). Marcus Colbert and Flavien Davis scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Zach Mills netted a game-high 19 points for the Hornets (4-6, 0-1), shooting 8-of-13 from the floor, including 3-of-5 from the perimeter. Dylan Garrity added 11 points.
The Bobcats turned in a solid shooting performance in the first half, making 40 percent from the field, including 7-of-15 from long range. The Hornets, in turn, shot a lowly 32 percent from the field, including just 2-of-9 from beyond the arc. At halftime, the Bobcats led, 35-25.
The Hornets improved to shoot 43.3 percent from the field in the second half, but the Bobcats again outpaced them with a confident 56 percent mark, which included six 3-pointers.
The Hornets got over half their points from bench players (38) and never trailed in the contest.
