Vikings' Patterson selected to Pro Bowl

The Sports NetworkJanuary 3, 2014

Eden Prairie, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Minnesota Vikings wide receiver/kick returner Cordarrelle Patterson has been selected to the Pro Bowl.

Patterson earned a spot as a return specialist.

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown was voted to the Pro Bowl as both a receiver and returner. Because he received more votes as a receiver, he will play that position in the Pro Bowl, leaving a return specialist spot open.

Patterson set Vikings records for kickoff return yards with 1,393 and kickoff return average at 32.4. He also tied a team mark with two kickoff returns for touchdowns.

The Tennessee product became the seventh Vikings rookie selected to the Pro Bowl, joining Chuck Foreman (1973), Randy Moss (1998), Adrian Peterson (2007), Percy Harvin (2009) and Blair Walsh and Matt Kalil (2012).
