Recap: North Carolina vs. Miami-Florida

Chapel Hill, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Rion Brown scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Miami Hurricanes toppled the North Carolina Tar Heels, 63-57, in Atlantic Coast Conference action at the Smith Center.

Erik Swoope netted 14 points and Manu Lecomte scored 11 with a team-high seven assists for Miami (9-6, 1-2 ACC). Tonye Jekiri pulled down 10 rebounds in the win.

James Michael McAdoo scored 12 points and hauled in 12 rebounds for the Tar Heels (10-5, 0-2). Marcus Paige scored eight points and dished out eight assists, but shot a mere 2-of-15 from the floor in the losing effort.

Both Miami and North Carolina struggled in the first half shooting. The Hurricanes hit 37.9 percent of their shots from the field, while the Tar Heels connected on just 29.6 percent. Miami led 29-26 at the break.

Miami's shooting percentage increased to 47.6 percent on 10-of-21 from the floor in the second half, while North Carolina's stayed down at 31.6 percent, including 3-of-13 from 3-point range.

In a six-point game, Miami held the advantage in free throws at 16-12, but was outscored 19-7 in points off turnovers and 18-6 in second-chance points.
