Hobart, Australia (SportsNetwork.com) - Top-seeded long-time Aussie crowd favorite Sam Stosur suffered a surprising straight-set loss to Klara Zakopalova Friday in the semifinals at the Hobart International tennis event, a final hardcourt Australian Open tune-up.

The seventh-seeded Czech Zakopalova needed just under 90 minutes to dispose of the former U.S. Open titlist, earning a 6-3, 6-2 triumph at Hobart International Tennis Centre.

Zakopalova will meet Garbine Muguruza in the final after the Spanish qualifier cruised past compatriot and fellow qualifier Estrella Cabeza Candela 6-0, 6-1.

The 31-year-old Zakopalova will be looking for her third WTA title in her 13th final, while the 20-year-old Muguruza will be searching for her first WTA crown in her first final.

Zakopalova topped Muguruza in their lone career meeting in Seoul in 2012.

Saturday's titlist will collect $43,000.
