Boise, ID (SportsNetwork.com) - Larry Nance, Jr. finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds and dropped in the game-winning jumper with just 1.3 seconds remaining to lead the Wyoming Cowboys to a 52-50 victory over the Boise State Broncos in Mountain West Conference action at Taco Bell Arena.
Jerron Granberry and Nathan Sobey each added 11 points for the Cowboys (10-6, 1-2 MWC) and Josh Adams chipped in with 10 points.
For the Broncos (11-5, 1-2), Anthony Drmic led the way with 20 points and Ryan Watkins scored 15.
Wyoming shot 45 percent from the field and held Boise State to just 33.3 percent shooting in the first half, as the Cowboys took a 25-23 lead into halftime. The Cowboys made 3-of-8 from beyond the arc in the first while the Broncos hit on just 3-of-12.
After intermission, the Broncos continued to struggle, making only 30.8 percent of their field goal tries and missing all five of their 3-point attempts. The Cowboys were able to make 47.4 percent of their shots from the field but had similar difficulty from long-range, going 0-of-4 from 3-point distance. Trailing by five with 3:22 remaining in regulation, the Cowboys finished the contest on a 9-2 run, including the final four points of the game, capped off by Nance's game-winner.
Wyoming outscored Boise State in the paint, 24-20. The Broncos had the edge on the boards, outrebounding the Cowboys, 33-26.
