Crew acquire Jimenez from Galaxy

Columbus, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - The Columbus Crew acquired midfielder Hector Jimenez and a first round pick (14th overall) in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft from the Los Angeles Galaxy on Tuesday in exchange for allocation money and the Crew's second round pick (23rd overall) in the SuperDraft.

Jimenez has spent the past three seasons with the Galaxy after being selected by the club in the second round of the 2011 MLS SuperDraft. The 25-year-old appeared in 43 regular season games for the club in that time, recording four goals and adding six assists.

The 2014 MLS SuperDraft will be held Thursday morning in Philadelphia.
