Inbound lanes leading to the I-185 access control point at Fort Benning’s main gate will be closed from Jan. 17-20 for lane re-striping, officials announced.

The closure will be effective 3 p.m. Friday and end at 5 p.m. Monday.

After the re-striping is complete, motorists should expect some lane realignment, which will allow easier access to the main gate.

"Motorists will still be able to leave the installation on I-185. During the temporary closure of the I-185 ACP, all other access control points will maintain their regular hours. Motorists can access the installation through access control points at Benning Road, 8th Eddy Bridge," Benning officials said in a release.
