Suspect allegedly beats woman, hits baby in head with lamp

A 22-year-old woman was reportedly beaten and her 8-months-old child hit in the head with a lamp during a domestic violence incident Thursday at the Victory Drive Colony Inn, according to a Columbus Police report.

The woman told police that the suspect, who she allegedly knew, held her down and punched her repeatedly at the 4300 block hotel at about 2:20 a.m. She received a cut on her foot and and had swelling to her forehead, according to the report.

The baby received a knot to her forehead. Both victims are in stable condition.

No details about the suspect were released. The events surrounding the confrontation were also not given.
