Gunman robs Shell station on Fourth Avenue

An armed bandit robbed the Shell Station on Fourth Avenue early Saturday and fled with cash, Columbus police said.

No one was injured in the 5:50 a.m. holdup at 401 Fourth Ave.

A store clerk told police a man entered the business and brandished a pistol. After demanding cash from the registers, the gunman left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robbery remains under investiation. No description of the gunman was available.
