Lorenzo Chambers

A 39-year-old woman told police she was forced to defend herself with a knife after her husband allegedly pulled her off the couch and tried to hit her, according to a Columbus Police report.

When police called 40-year-old Lorenzo Chambers to inquire about a reported simple battery, he told them his wife had pulled a knife on him in their Drake Street home shortly after midnight Thursday.

His wife later told officers she grabbed the knife from the kitchen in self defense after Chambers attempted to punch her. The altercation arose after Chambers began arguing with her about a cell phone, according to the report.

Chambers was charged with simple battery and taken to Muscogee County Jail.
