Recap: Ga Southern vs. Wofford

Statesboro, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Karl Cochran knocked down 25 points to lead the Wofford Terriers past the Georgia Southern Eagles, 74-64, in Southern Conference play at Hanner Fieldhouse.

Spencer Collins notched 18 points for the Terriers (9-10, 4-3 SoCon), who have won back-to-back games. Eric Garcia and Lee Skinner tallied 15 and 10 points, respectively, with the latter also clearing nine rebounds.

Jelani Hewitt scored 18 points to lead the Eagles (9-11, 2-3), who have lost consecutive contests. Tre Bussey and Angel Matias both contributed 13 points, with Matias bringing in nine rebounds.

The Eagles struggled to get their offense going in the first half, shooting just 30.4 percent, hitting only seven field goals. The Terriers, who more than doubled that total and shot 53.6 percent, led 35-26 at the end of the period.

In the second half, the Eagles improved to a 50 percent field goal percentage, though the Terriers kept pace at 46.2 percent and still managed to outscore their opponent. Wofford led by as many as 17 points midway through the half.

The Terriers outscored the hosts 18-8 in points off turnovers and 17-6 in bench scoring on their way to the victory.
