Eight ounces of meth discovered during 15th Avenue drug bust

More than eight ounces of meth were recovered and three men arrested when Columbus Special Operations Unit and Drug Enforcement Agency officers searched a 15th Avenue suspected drug house Thursday, according to officials.

Special Operations Unit Capt. Gil Slouchick said agents had been investigating activities around 2019 15th Avenue since September.

When agents searched the house Thursday, they discovered 8.27 ounces of meth, five digital scales, one smoking device and a 15-inch sawed-off shotgun. Eight Adderall were also found during the investigation.

The meth was valued at $23,450.

John M. Brown, 31, and Marcus Cox, 32, were charged with trafficking meth.

Tyler Beasley, 30, was charged with possession of controlled substances. Beasley was additionally charged with failure to give signal, possession of drug related objects, possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute and possession of a sawed-off shotgun.

All three men were taken to Muscogee County Jail.
