Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Toronto FC announced on Friday the club has acquired defender Bradley Orr on loan from English Championship side Blackburn Rovers.

As per team and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"Bradley Orr represents the addition of a versatile defender with valuable experience, and gives greater depth to our backline," Toronto FC general manager Tim Bezbatchenko said in a statement. "Ryan (Nelsen, head coach) has known Bradley for some time and was instrumental in helping to secure his arrival to our club."

Orr, 31, most recently spent time on loan from Blackburn with Championship club Blackpool, where he made four appearances. He began his career at Newcastle United and was sent on loan to Burnley FC in 2004.

At the conclusion of his Burnley loan, Orr signed on with Bristol City where he went into to make 235 appearances before signing with Queens Park Rangers in 2010 and helping the Hoops win promotion to the Premier League that season.
