Columbus State baseball team picked to finish sixth in Peach Belt

The Columbus State baseball team was picked to finish sixth in the Peach Belt Conference in a poll of the 13 baseball coaches in the league.

USC Aiken, which won the regular-season title last year, was picked to repeat. It received nine first-place votes.

The rest of the top five were Lander, Montevallo, Georgia College and UNC Pembroke.

CSU received one second-place vote, one for third, two for fourth, two for fifth, four for sixth and one for eighth.

The Cougars finished second in the PBC during the regular season. It also advanced to the PBC tournament semifinals.

CSU opens the season at West Alabama on Feb. 1.
