CSU rifle team shoots 4538 against N.C. State

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The Columbus State rifle team, ranked No. 19, had an aggregate score of 4538 against N.C. State Sunday at the Inouye Marksmanship Center at The Citadel.

N.C. State's score was just over CSU's at 4597.

CSU shot a 2242 in smallbore and 2296 in air rifle. Marko Maksimovic led Columbus State with an aggregate score of 1143. He led the team in smallbore with a 567 and shot a 576 in air rifle.

Jay Cross scored a 1137 and led CSU in air rifle with a 577.

Other scores for Columbus State were Marissa Furney's 1133 (562 smallbore, 571 air rifle), J.S. Fielding's 1125 (553 smallbore, 572 air rifle) and Meghan Robertson's 1099 (552 smallbore, 547 air rifle.)

CSU will compete again at the Ohio Valley Conference championship on Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. in Murray, Ky.
