Officer injured while assisting motorist

A Columbus Police officer injured his ribs while attempting to help a stuck motorist during Wednesday's hazardous conditions, according to a Columbus Police report.

Officer Billy White, 45, was attempting to help a stuck motorist near the intersection of Manchester Expressway and Armour Road at about 9:20 a.m. While making his way to the vehicle, he slipped and fell on a patch of ice.

He later transported himself to Midtown Medical Center where he was pronounced to be in good condition.
