Officers wrested a knife from a 23-year-old woman's hand Thursday after she allegedly stabbed a 22-year-old man in the chest, according to a Columbus Police report.

Police arrived at the 2001 Torch Hill Road apartment at about 8:20 p.m., after receiving reports of a stabbing. A witness allegedly told the officer to "Come get them," and pointed towards Victoria Thomas, who was pinned to the ground by the victim. The victim begged police to get the knife out of Thomas' hands, according to the report.

When the officer grabbed the green-handled blade, he noticed blood on the wall and floor. The victim then told the officer that Thomas allegedly stabbed him in the lower left portion of his chest.

The victim was taken to Midtown Medical Center. He is reportedly in stable condition.

Thomas was charged with aggravated assault and third degree cruelty to children, as several children were present. She was transported to Muscogee County Jail.
