Closed earlier this week due to the winter storm, the Georgia Department of Labor is reopening all but one of its career centers on Friday.

That includes the Columbus Career Center at 700 Veterans Parkway, which opened at 8 a.m. The center closes at 4:30 p.m., although those wishing to be served with ample time should arrive no later than 4:15 p.m. To contact the center, call 706-649-7423.

Friday's operating hours at various centers will vary, although the labor department said normal schedules will be back in place next week -- 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

The department said the following career centers across the state opened at 8 a.m. Friday -- Albany, Americus, Athens, Augusta, Bainbridge, Brunswick, Cairo, Columbus, Cordele, Covington, Dalton, Douglas, Dublin, Eastman, Gainesville, Gwinnett County (Norcross, Beaver Ruin Road), Habersham (Clayton), Hinesville, Houston County (Warner Robins), Jesup, Kingsbay, Macon, Milledgeville, Moultrie, Newnan, Savannah, Statesboro, Thomasville, Thomson, Tifton, Toccoa, Valdosta, Vidalia and Waycross.

The career centers in Carrollton and Cartersville will open their doors at noon.

The center in Blue Ridge is closed because of storm damage, the agency said.
