Zagreb, Croatia (SportsNetwork.com) - Reigning champion and Croatian crowd favorite Marin Cilic was an easy first-round winner Monday at the Zagreb Indoors tennis tournament.

The fifth-seeded former top-10 star handled wild card and fellow countryman Mate Delic 6-4, 6-4 at Dom Sportova.

Cilic whipped Austrian Jurgen Melzer in last year's finale to capture his third Zagreb title in five years. He also titled here back-to-back in 2009 and 2010.

Also on Monday, German Benjamin Becker outlasted Dutchman Jesse Huta Galung 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 7-6 (8-6).

The top seeds in Zagreb are German Tommy Haas and Russian Mikhail Youzhny, who was the Zagreb champion two years ago. The one-time world No. 2 Haas will open his stay this week against Becker.
