SEC media days expands to four days, Auburn's Gus Malzahn to speak on Day 1

AUBURN, Ala. — The SEC's annual football media days seems to take on more significance with each passing year.

Starting this year, there will now be another day to talk about the preseason event. On Thursday, the SEC announced that it will expand the event from three days to four. It will take place from July 14-17 at the Hyatt Regency Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham, Ala.

Gus Malzahn, head coach of defending SEC champion Auburn, will speak on Day 1 along with Florida's Will Muschamp and first-year Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason. They will speak after SEC commissioner Mike Slive gives his "state of the SEC" address to kick off the event.

The players and times that teams will appear each day will be announced this summer.
