FROM STAFF REPORTSFebruary 6, 2014

Former Carver High standout Isaiah Crowell has been invited to the 2014 NFL scouting combine.

The combine will be held Feb. 19-25 in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Field. The NFL draft is in May.

Crowell announced he would forego his final season at Alabama State after the end of the 2013 season.

On cbssports.com, Crowell is listed at 5-foot-11 and 215 pounds with a 4.50 40-yard dash. He is listed as the No. 24 running back. He is projected to be a seventh or final-round draft choice.

Crowell began his college career at Georgia and earned SEC Freshman of the Year honors, but he was dismissed from the team after being arrested on charges that were later dropped.

He transferred to Alabama State, where he earned SWAC Newcomer of the Year in 2012. In 12 games last season, he rushed for 1,126 yards and 15 touchdowns.
