Why did sirens go off this morning?

The emergency sirens that went off this morning in Columbus were part of an emergency awareness test, according to Mayor Teresa Tomlinson.

The test was originally scheduled for last week, but city leaders decided not to conduct a test during a major weather event, such as the state saw last week, Tomlinson said.
