High school roundup: Glenwood's hoops teams advance to AISA final four

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The Glenwood basketball teams advanced to next week's AISA final fours with wins on Friday afternoon at Huntingdon College.

The Lady Gators beat Tuscaloosa Academy 54-40. They will play Evangel on Thursday at 2 p.m.

Glenwood, which lost to Lee-Scott in the state championship game last season, got 22 points from Tamara York and 12 from Elizabeth Perdue in Friday's win.

The Gators routed Morgan Academy 80-41, outscoring Morgan 20-0 in the first quarter.

Ant Holktzclaw led Glenwood with 16 points, while Jalen Thomas had 15 and Alex Hicks scored 11.

The Gators will play arch-rival Lee-Scott in the state semifinals Thursday at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Huntingdon College
