Seville, Spain ( - Rain continues to plague the Fed Cup tie between the Czech Republic and Spain, forcing officials to continue play on Monday.

Only one match was played Saturday because of weather issues and the second opening singles match between Maria Torro-Flor of Spain and Klara Zakopalova was underway on Sunday when rain again fell on the red clay at Seville's Centro de Tenis Blas Infante.

Zakopalova was ahead 6-3, 2-0 when play was stopped on Sunday. The Spaniards built a 1-0 lead in the best-of-five tie on Saturday when Carla Suarez Navarro claimed a 6-1, 6-4 rain-delayed triumph over Barbora Zahlavova Strycova.

The Spaniards own five Fed Cup titles, while the Czechs were back-to-back Fed Cup champs in 2011 and 2012.

Spain is 2-1 all-time versus the Czechs, who won the most recent clash in 2009.
