Pharmacist Terry Hurley was minding his own business -- literally -- filling prescriptions at his Dinglewood Pharmacy when a stranger approached and asked if he could speak to him privately.

Out of the blue, he asked Hurley if he'd ever done any TV or film work.

"Lord, no!" Hurley responded, unless you count an occasional TV news interview.

Well, it turns out that the stranger was part of a group scouting locations to tape a pilot for a new reality TV show, and they wanted to use the venerable Dinglewood Pharmacy as one site and Hurley as one of the actors.

Hurley couldn't say much about the nature of the show or even who is producing it, other than to say it's a "major cable network" that insisted that he sign a confidentiality agreement.

"It's a pilot for a series that is already being aired in two other countries," Hurley said. "The pilot will be shot in Columbus, in part at Dinglewood, but also in other locations the company recently scouted. If it's successful, it will jump around to other American cities where new episodes will be shot."

It will be "a wholesome, family-friendly show, nothing degrading," Hurley said.

Shooting is expected to take place at different sites in Columbus over the next couple of weeks, he said.

"The company chose Columbus for its pilot after scouting other cities, because it's attractive, friendly, welcoming," Hurley said. "It projects the wholesomeness that the producers are trying to portray."
